MPI OREGON’S ‘DINER EN BLANC’ (DINNER IN WHITE) 2017 AWARDS GALA

Time: 5pm to 7pm – Registration, Cocktail Reception & Silent Auction
7pm to 9pm – Dinner, Live Auction and Awards
9pm to 11pm – ‘After Party’ at the Hilton’s HopCity Tavern (Lobby Level)
Awards to be Presented: Silver Platter, Mentor Award, Rising Star Award, Torch Light Award, Supplier of the Year, Planner of the Year, and the Dian J. Lindsay Presidential Award
This year’s gala theme has been inspired by the visually stunning, chic ‘pop-up’ garden dinners held across the globe known as ‘Diner En Blanc’ or Dinner in White. To celebrate the 2017 Awards Gala, MPI Oregon will be hosting its very own ‘Diner En Blanc’ event and we hope you’ll join us!
The Rules of MPI’s ‘Diner En Blanc’:
1 – All White, Formal Attire Encouraged
Guests are encouraged to dress entirely in white (or as close as possible) for this formal gathering. We won’t be as strict as the actual ‘Diner En Blanc’ events that require complete adherence to the white rule, but the visual impact of the event will be greatest the closer we can get. Accent pieces in gold and silver are definitely welcome!
2 – It’s All About Style and Creativity!
MPI Oregon’s ‘Diner En Blanc’ is your opportunity to dress to impress and let your creative juices flow! Your ‘Diner En Blanc’ ensemble can include hats, statement jewelry, accessories, boas, feathers, headpieces, whatever you want to use to help your personal style shine through! 3 – Come Prepared for Fun
At its core, this theme is all about food, drinks and good company! It’s about friends and colleagues coming together to celebrate another amazing year for the chapter and honor those among us who have gone above and beyond in their professional roles. As we all know ‘event people’ throw the best parties, and this year’s event will be no exception!
WHAT IS DINER EN BLANC (DINNER IN WHITE)?
Dîner en Blanc (Dinner in White) is a worldwide event, spanning six continents, in which people flash-gather in a public space and set up a temporary, chic dining area. The principles of the event are simply that guests dress formally in white; and that they enjoy quality food, wine and good company. These secret dinners are only enjoyed by a select number of participants who have previously been co-opted are made privy to the location the day of the dinner. The Dîner en Blanc concept began in Paris in 1988 when Frenchman François Pasquier invited a group of friends to an elegant outdoor dinner at Bois de Boulogne, asking them to dress in white so they could find each other. The event’s presence has grown to over 70 cities, with almost 15,000 gathering for the 25th-anniversary event in Paris.
